Reprographic Service

There is one photocopying machine in the Library which are used for making photo copies of educational material. This facility is also available for students and copyingquestion papers, certificates etc.

Application of Information and communication Technology (ICT)

i) Computer Technology :

– Library has a one Server.

– Computerization of Library is completed using LIB- ManSoftware.

ii) Closed Circuit television System :

Installation of C.C.T.V. System with two cameras for overall supervision.

iii) OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) :

We extend the OPAC facility to the users. OPAC (on-line public Access catalogue) of Lib -Man Software is a powerful search engine for the retrieval of any cataloguing information from bibliographic data-base on-line. The search option includes Title, Author, Subject, Class Number, Accession Number for the retrieval of books.

Preservation and security System:

1) Most preservation work consists of binding, repair and specialized conservation like ant termite and anti – pesticide treatment.

2) Fire Extinguisher: For the safety purpose, we have installed two fire extinguisher cylinders.

Book Exhibition:

i) Dr. S.R. Ranganathan Birth Anniversary on 9th August, Every year.

ii) Dr. S.R. Ranganathan Death Anniversary on 27th September, Every year.

Annexure – I

Library Rules for the Students

1) Identity card is compulsory to all the students enrolled.

2) Every student should possess identity card in the college campus. On demand, she /       

should produce the same.

3) Duplicate identity card will be issued to the registered student if necessary after              

paying @ Rs. 25/-

4) Senior (Degree) College students are given two books for a week.

5) Students appearing for competitive examination are given one additional book.

6) Missing page @ Rs. 1/- per page and a binding charge of Rs. 10/- per book will be           

charged.

7) The lost / torn book will have to be replaced with latest edition, otherwise, twice the

price of the latest edition will be charged, subject to a minimum of Rs. 50/-

8) Issue section is kept open during Dipawali Vacation. Books not returned in

timewill attract fine, even during vacation.

9) Misbehaviour will be a sufficient reason for the cancellation of admission.

10) Suggestion Box is kept in the reading room. Constructive suggestions/complaints are

welcome.

11) Photocopying facility is available in the library.

12) In case of any grievances, contact the librarian.

13) The librarian may recall a book at any time before its due date, he may increase theover

due charges for the failure to return a book within due date.

14) Smoking, spitting, sleeping, eating, chitchatting are strictly prohibited.

15) Reader should not mark, Scratch, detach any page or figures from the books.

16) No document should be taken from one section to another section without the

knowledge and permission of library staff.

17) Mobile phones are strictly prohibited in the library premises.

18) Students should take care of books issued to them. They should inform about missing

pages to the Library (Counter) staff, the every movement of its issue.

Issue Section:

1)  Books issued can be retained only for seven days.

2)  Reference / Rare books are not issued out. However, they can be made available in          

The Reading room.

3)  Working Hours                                   :          07 hours

      Monday to Saturday                           :           10.00 am to 05.00 pm

4)    Students can borrow books as per the Monday to Saturday

5)    A fine of Rs. 1/- per week, per book will be charged for not returning it within the due

       date. for some books (most demanded) a fine of Rs.5/- will be charged per day.

Book – Bank facility is available in the Library :

1)    The above facilities are given only after the completion of the admission procedure          

(Submission of original documents, payment of fee etc.)

2)   Students should return books of library and also surrender identity card within \    10  days after annual examination. Otherwise a fine of Rs. 10/- per book will be

charged.

Reading Room :

1)      Reading Room will open from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.

2)      Admission to Reading Room without identity card is prohibited.

3)      Every reader should sign in the entry register.

4)      Students can borrow study material from 10.00am to 5.00pm.

5)       Students can borrow on their identity card text books, magazines, News papers, and

questionpaper set etc.

6)    Books for competitive examinations such as U.P.S.C., M.P.S.C., NDA, NET & SET, JRF

        are available in the Reading Room.

7)    Reference books are not issued out. However, they are made available in the Reading Room.

8)   For competitive examinations, magazines/journals are available in English, Hindi and Marathi.

9)   Reader should not mark, scratch, and detach any page or figure from the books.

10)    Books/Study material issued in the Reading Room will have to be returned before           

leaving the reading room. Otherwise, a fine Rs. 10/- will be charged per day.

11)    Silence should be observed in Reading Room.

12)   Smoking, spitting, sleeping, eating, chitchatting are strictly prohibited.

13)   Mobile phones are strictly prohibited in the library premises.

14)   Indiscipline / Misbehaviour will not be tolerated.

Annexure – II

RULES FOR TEACHING & NON TEACHING STAFF

1)    A teacher can borrow 50 books. Out of these 27 books should be related to his / her

subject (including text books) 02 books on fiction/ general interest and 1 book of any subject (excluding text-book)

2)    Fiction / general interest books are issued for 21 days. In case the teacher wants to              keep them for more days, permission from the Principal should be obtained. Subject

related text-books and subject related reference books are given to the teacher for one  academic year.

3)   In case a teacher wants text-book/reference book of a subject other than his/her   own,

a written permission (explaining the reason for borrowing) should be obtained     from the

Principal.

4)    A teacher can borrow one subject-related and one other magazine/journal from the        

reading room for 2 days.

5)    A non-teaching staff member can borrow two books, one general and one fiction   and

Onemagazine for 21 days. Text-books and reference works will not be issued to them on anyground.

6)    Periodicals will be issued fifteen days after their entry.

7)      Books/periodicals not returned within due date will be fined at the rate of Rs.1/- per

week.The maximum fine will be Rs. 100/-

8)      All the books / periodicals borrowed should be returned on or before April 30, other

wise twice the amount of the original price or the current price will be deducted as deposit from the salary of May. Minimum deduction will be Rs. 50/- (even if the current price or twice the price of the original edition is less than Rs. 50/-) It is better to replace the lost book/periodical before July 31.

9)    Syllabus, question paper sets etc. will not be issued. However, employees can borrow and

gothrough them in the reading room.

10)    Encyclopaedia, Dictionaries, Annual Issues, Bound Volumes of Articles/Magazines and

Rare Books will be not issued out.
